We’ve come a long way since Brooke Shields’s mom sold pictures of her 10-year old daughter to Playboy. Magazines can no longer get away with asking a child what it means to be good in bed, and I am as thankful for that as I am for
young Shields’s answer: "When I'm sick and I stay home from school propped up with lots of pillows watching TV and my mom brings me soup—that's good in bed."

In the end, Brooke Shields turned out alright, and I hope that young Dakota Fanning, who is the beneficiary of much stronger legal protections, will too. She recently starred in The Runaways, and although it’s old news here, the film is making its premiere in England this Friday, and is regenerating press about Fanning’s on-screen kiss with co-star Kristen Stewart. Stewart recently spoke with England’s Stylist magazine, explaining that the famous kiss only took “like 5 seconds in the movie” and appeared “innocent”, “natural and impulsive.”

But don’t let the magic of Hollywood fool you. That kiss was actually a highly orchestrated, severely limited act, and there were strict rules in place regarding Stewart’s behaviour with her teen co-star, “Well, she was 15 and I wasn’t allowed to grope her. I’m not kidding. There are major restrictions.”

It’s not very often that I say this, but can I get three cheers for major restrictions?  The Runaways was a solid film, one whose edge could not be dulled by the strictures protecting its young star. We got a good a movie, and its child actor was guaranteed a grope-free work environment. Everyone wins!  Ron Galella, WireImage

just a common sense thing - or does this have to be patented also - so someone can make money from it?

Welcome to the feminist utopia. Every action is damaging and everyone is a Pedo.
PS Brooke must be in denial and should be forced into 're-education' therapy.

I , for 1 am glad the days of men just doing what they want to whom they want, when they want are OVER!

Unless they're super hot like "the situation" right Meg? Jesus what the hell does that have to do with the movie or the story Meg? A little bitter? did you just get dumped or did you gain 40 lbs. ?????

Steve, I think Meg's problem is that she never "got" any.

Meg's point goes right to the last line of the story.

And don't worry, Steve, I'm sure there's some lovely old geezer around who'd love to grope you, LOL!

why does everyone just argue on here about there own little issues? The point is, Hollywood for once has recognized that there are restrictions that need to be in place to protect young actors and actresses. Hopefully it's not a one time only thing. All the rest of the nonsense is just that; nonsense.

I'm glad Dakota was protected, I don't really care what Kristen has to say. She has about as much personality as a plain white piece of toast! Robert and Kristen are a match made in plain toast heaven!

I'm glad there are restrictions for child actors. Dakota Fanning became my favorite young actress. She is amazing and so talented.

Now on a side-note, why are there so many bullies on the internet? Meg had an opinion, like we all do, but why is it always necessary for some bully to attack another person with insults? I've come to the conclusion that there are just a lot of jerks out there with pent up rage, just looking to take their frustrations out. Grow up.

It takes three generations to make a gentleman.

This is such a beautiful image! Is that what you call Digital Painting? It looks stunning.
